Guide

The best sales platforms for outbound teams.

A platform is a team's choice, not a rep's. Eight sales platforms and Opusend, compared on what their own pages list, with the date we checked.

The short answer

A platform is a record, plus the tools to reach it.

A sales platform for outbound has to hold the record and run the outreach. Platforms whose pages describe a CRM of their own, with leads and pipeline stages: Apollo.io, Close, HubSpot Sales Hub, Pipedrive, Salesforce Sales Cloud and Zoho CRM. Platforms that work on top of a CRM they sync with: Outreach and Salesloft. Calling and meeting booking are part of the product at Apollo.io, HubSpot Sales Hub, Outreach and Salesloft. Opusend is not a full platform: it has the outbound loop and a CRM, and no calling or meetings yet.

Last checked

Opusend makes one of the tools in this guide. Every tool is held to the same eight jobs, and every fact has its source.

What a team needs

Four questions a platform has to answer.

A platform serves a team, so the questions are about the team: where the record lives, how much outreach is in the box, how a rep reaches people, and how the bill is counted. Each tool is marked on the same eight jobs from its own pages, and listed alphabetically: this is a comparison, not a ranking.

One record

Does the platform keep the leads and the pipeline itself, or work on top of a CRM it syncs with? A second record is a second place to keep clean.

Outreach in the box

Are email, LinkedIn and reply handling part of the platform, or sold as add-ons or partner products?

How reps reach people

Is calling built in, and can a prospect book a meeting without leaving the tool?

How the bill is counted

Per user, per plan, per sender or quoted by sales changes the cost of a team more than the headline price.

The eight jobs

  1. 1

    Find the people

A contact database or search of its own, to build the list you start from.

  2. 2

    Contact data

Finds or checks work emails, phone numbers or company details.

  3. 3

    LinkedIn

Sends connection requests and messages on LinkedIn, or works inside it.

  4. 4

    Email sequences

Sends multi-step cold email sequences from the tool.

  5. 5

    CRM and pipeline

Keeps its own lead records and pipeline stages, not only a sync to someone else's.

  6. 6

    Calling

    A built-in dialer.

  7. 7

    Meeting booking

A built-in scheduler or booking links.

  8. 8

    Replies and reporting

Sorts or shows the replies that come back, and reports on results.

Where Opusend fits

The outbound half of a platform.

Opusend keeps its own CRM and runs outbound on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and email: it reads each prospect, writes in your voice, runs the follow-ups, catches the replies and moves the stage by itself. For a team whose job is outbound, and that wants one clean record, it can be the platform.

It is not a replacement for a platform your whole company runs on. It has no calling and no meetings yet, and no HubSpot or Salesforce sync, so a team that lives in either today should know that before it starts.

Questions

Questions people ask.

What is a sales platform?
A sales platform combines the record of your leads and deals with the tools to reach them. In this guide that means a CRM of its own and some of: email and LinkedIn outreach, calling, meetings and reporting.
Which sales platforms have a free plan?
Platforms whose pages list a free plan: Apollo.io, HubSpot Sales Hub, Salesforce Sales Cloud and Zoho CRM. Platforms that offer a free trial: Close and Pipedrive. Opusend has no free plan, and gives 14 days on us, no card needed.
Which sales platforms publish their prices?
Platforms that print figures on their own pages: Apollo.io, Close, HubSpot Sales Hub, Pipedrive, Salesforce Sales Cloud and Zoho CRM. Platforms that ask you to talk to sales: Outreach and Salesloft.
Which sales platforms include a dialer?
Tools whose pages list a dialer as part of the product: Apollo.io, Close, HubSpot Sales Hub, Outreach, Salesloft and Zoho CRM. Tools that sell it as an add-on: Salesforce Sales Cloud. Opusend does not have calling.
How was this guide checked?
We read each tool's own public pages on 2026-10-04: its home page, its pricing page and the pages for its features, and recorded what they say, with the link. Prices are the vendor's own, as printed, in the currency it showed. We did not test the tools, so a feature may behave differently from how its page describes it. Vendors change their pages, so each tool shows the date it was checked and its sources.
Is this guide independent?
Opusend makes one of the tools in this guide, and says so at the top. Every tool is held to the same eight jobs and the same rules, every fact has its source, and the Opusend entry lists what Opusend does not do. If something about a tool is wrong, write to [email protected] and we will check it and fix it.
